A Dive into the Blue: Snorkeling at Giannutri Island

Snorkeling and trekking experience at Giannutri with an expert guide

Have you arrived at Giglio Island by booking one of our ferries, and would you like to dedicate a day to exploring the seabed with the support of an expert guide?

Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in the excursion organized by Maregiglio, which will allow you to take part in an exciting day of snorkeling and trekking at Giannutri.

Every Thursday, from July 1st to September 8th, 2023, we’ll cast off from Giglio Porto. Aboard the shimmering Motorship Costa d’Argento, we’ll navigate our way towards Giannutri, an island famed for its natural splendor and clear-as-glass waters.

Already got a date in mind and can’t wait to secure your spot? Just pop over to this page to see if we’ve got seats left (green dates are your go signal) and breeze through your booking.

The moment we land, it’s time for some action-packed snorkeling and trekking on Giannutri, under the expert guidance of Le Orme’s team, who’ve been blazing trails and making waves across Tuscany and Upper Lazio since 2000.

With our pro snorkeling instructor leading the way, we’ll dive into the island’s most enchanting coves, uncovering ancient shipwrecks, vibrant sea beds and a bustling underwater world, nestled right in the heart of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.

But it’s not all about what lies beneath – we’ll also venture inland, exploring Giannutri’s trails all the way to the tips of Capel Rosso or Cala Volo di Notte, as we lose ourselves amidst untouched nature and the intoxicating scent of Mwediterranean scrub.

Throughout our day of snorkeling and trekking on Giannutri, we’ll take time to share insights and stories, helping you connect with and appreciate the natural wonders we come across.

How to get to Giglio Porto from Campese or Giglio Castello

If you’re nestled in Giglio Campese or perched up in Giglio Castello and looking to venture to Giglio Porto, the journey is straightforward. The Tuscan Bus Lines serve as a reliable chariot, ready to whisk you off to your destination. Jump aboard the Linea ig1A bus, your conduit between Giglio Campese, Giglio Castello, and Giglio Porto.

With the wheels turning about once an hour, you’ll find yourself in Giglio Porto in no time. From there, the Galli Pier is just a stone’s throw away – a leisurely walk and you’re there.

Should you prefer to travel in a bit more comfort, taxis are at your beck and call. A quick phone call, and a taxi will swing by to take you from Giglio Campese or Giglio Castello, right up to the Galli Pier in Giglio Porto.

The fare? That’ll depend on how far you’re going and how many fellow travellers are tagging along.

Whichever way you lean, bus or taxi, a pro-tip is to check the bus timetable or secure your taxi ahead of time. This is particularly true during the summer rush, when the island teems with visitors.
