Within the setting of Giglio Castello, in thelast weekend of September, the long-awaited appointment with the "Grape Festival and Open Cellars", the traditional wine and food festival that essentially closes the 2024 tourist season.
It opens Thursday, September 26 and continues to Sunday Sept. 28, a day when the wineries will be open for lunch. It will be possible to enjoy the magical atmosphere of the Borgo Antico of Giglio Castello by tasting local dishes in the cellars set up among the narrow alleys, accompanied by the characteristic ansonaco wine and traveling music. For this year it is rumored that the open cellars will be more than last year, in each of them it will be possible to taste a typical local dish, cooked by island restaurants and drink a glass of Ansonaco, chosen from local producers.
The entire event will be held in full compliance with the new sanitary regulations, which is why changes will be made from previous editions.
The "Grape and Winery Festival" is organized by theAssociation "Pro Loco" with the contribution of the Municipality of Giglio Island and the Collaboration of volunteers and local merchants.
