On our routes, access is guaranteed to all passengers regardless of color, class, sexual identity or type of mobility. To facilitate access to the islands of Giglio and Giannutri for the passengers with reduced mobility a range of assistance services, by our on-board and ground staff, and aids to support mobility on board are provided.

 The reception on board of passengers with special needs is regulated by the Decree Legislative March 8, 2005 No. 52, by the implementing circulars issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, from EU Reg. 1177/2010 as well as the Company's internal procedures. They are considered to be. passengers with reduced mobilityta (PMR) people whose mobility is reduced due to any physical disability (sensory or motor, permanent or temporary), intellectual disability or incapacity, or for any other cause of disability, pregnant women o persons with reduced mobility due to age, whose condition requires appropriate attention and adaptation of the service provided to all passengers to meet their specific needs.

La Maregiglio Company Ltd. undertakes to accept reservations from passengers with reduced mobility or disabilities who request them under the same conditions as other passengers, and agrees to provide assistance at no additional charge, subject to notification at the time of ticket purchase or at the time of reservation of their disability. In this regard, it is necessary to send a'email Of reporting to:

For the online shopping persons with disabilities or persons with reduced mobility must check the box PMR While entering the required data.

In any case, a passenger with a disability or reduced mobility who requires boarding assistance is required to inform the Carrier with at least 48 hours in advance On the scheduled departure date and to report to boarding 60 minutes before Of the scheduled departure time.

Assistance on board naval units:

 

La PMR Will be assisted by the crew:

  • In embarkation/disembarkation operations;
  • In baggage management;
  • In reaching the assigned place;
  • In going to the restroom.

If the PMR is assisted by his or her own companion, he or she may request to provide the necessary assistance in port as well as during embarkation and disembarkation.

For the PMR blind, the Company provides free accommodation for the accompanying passenger.

Passengers with ongoing medical cases must have appropriate medical certification, issued by a state facility, in original, dated no earlier than 48 hours before departure.

Passengers who must be transported exclusively by stretcher must be accompanied by at least one able-bodied person for the required assistance.

People with disabilities or people with reduced mobility notify to the Society, At the time of booking or advance ticket purchase, their specific needs for accommodation, seating, required services, or the need to carry medical equipment provided such needs or requirements are known at that time. For any other assistance the PMR must Notify the Carrier or ticket office operator. with at least 48 hours in advance of departure, by sending an email to info@maregiglio.it with Item: PMR Service Request, specifying in the text of the email the expected date of departure. It will be the responsibility of our staff to direct you and activate the planned assistance procedures.

Who are the PMRs?

Anyone who has a particular difficulty in using public transportation, including:

  • the elderly,
  • people with disabilities,
  • people with sensory disorders and
  • How many people employ wheelchairs,
  • pregnant women,
  • Those who accompany young children;     

The M/V GIGLIO ISLAND

for connections with theGiglio Island arranges:

  • 24 seats inside the "Bar" hall reserved for PMRs
  • 6 places inside the hall "BAR reserved for wheelchairs
  • path within the halls for the blind
  • "WHEEL MOUNT", recognized by current regulations as a medical device; the "Wheeled Stairlift" S-Max is in fact a CE standard item, with ISO,BE,QVH,TUV certificates, and ministerial certification: s-max 116559/R - s-max 160 kg 140358/R
  • a dedicated wheelchair with the attachments set up for the MONTASCALE so as to ensure service in the event of a request from PMR and/or anyone in need.
  • 2 parking spaces reserved for PMR
  • dedicated toilet for PMRs
  • All shipboard personnel have been trained and instructed to give the proper support and help to PRMs as outlined in the PRM management plan and specifications.
  •  It has a plan for evacuation of the ship in case of abandon ship for people with reduced mobility to move from the passenger lounge to the lifeboats.

The M/V- DIANIUM

in service on the line Porto Santo Stefano- Giglio Island and on the line Porto Santo Stefano- Giannutri Island, on some days of the week it features: 

  • No. 12 seats reserved for PMRs in the main deck
  • No. 3 reserved wheelchair spaces in the main deck
  • No. 1 parking space reserved for PMRs
  • toilet facility reserved for PMRs
  • PMR accommodations and wheelchair stations in the main deck 
  • All shipboard personnel have been trained and instructed to give the proper support and help to PRMs as outlined in the PRM management plan and specifications.
  •  It has a plan for evacuation of the ship in case of abandon ship for people with reduced mobility to move from the passenger lounge to the lifeboats.

To enable us to provide maximum cooperation, it will be essential to request specific information on on-board equipment for PRMs from our ticket offices, call center, or on-board staff before boarding as well as it will be essential, for persons with reduced mobility, to present themselves at boarding well in advance, at least 1h before departure, signifying the need for specific assistance.
