The island of Giannutri is part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, the territory of the island is thus divided into protected areas for each of which there are dedicated rules of use.

The area protected by the Park on land is divided into two areas:

Zone A (blue area in the map) of integral reserve;

Zone B (green area in the map) of oriented general reserve.

In these two areas you can visit the island soly accompanied by an environmental guide, in groups of up to 25 people, following the pathways marked out by the Park.

The two docking creeks remain freely accessible and swimmable, without the requirement of accompaniment by a Guide: Cala Maestra e Cove Spread and consequently the path that connects them.

In any case, Giannutri is by its nature a wild island, a place that is difficult to access for all those with motor problems. Therefore, although our boats have all the devices to ensure access on board for people with motor disabilities and for people with reduced mobility, the island remains an inadvisable destination to visit for all those who are not independent in their movements and for all people identifiable in these two categories.

There is a small restaurant on the island in Cala Maestra and a bar/restaurant in Cala Spalmatoio; however, to enjoy the excursion to the fullest, it is recommended, especially in very hot weather, to bring enough water, a hat for the sun, hiking shoes or shoes with a sculpted sole, and for those who want to swim, rock shoes are recommended.
There are no trees on the island, only scrubland, so there are very few shady spots that can be used as refreshment spots.

Pets - are allowed but in accordance with current regulations ( SPA under Directive 79/409/EEC and as a Site of Community Importance under Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC (which require managing bodies to implement minimum levels of protection from the outset) ):

12.1 Dogs must be guarded by their owners and must be kept on a leash, with no entry into Zone A. Violators will be subject to the following penalties:
unattended dogs or without a leash: administrative penalty from € 75.00 to € 600.00;
access in Zone A: administrative penalty of €100.00 to €600.00.
The dog keeper is obliged to collect droppings in accordance with current regulations.

12.2 Cats are allowed only in the appurtenances of homes and must be sterilized and identified with microchips. Violators will be subject to an administrative penalty of €75.00 to €600.00.
